Week 10 Recap

Week 10 Recap

Good news: I have a new job!

Bad news: that means I don't have the time to make these long GIFcap posts anymore. I'll try and add to it throughout the week, but for now, a top 10 GIFs of the week will have to do.

Now that teams are officially eliminated, I want to remind you that I will be monitoring add/drops and trades to ensure studs aren’t moved for nothing/dropped onto waivers; I have seen nothing fishy so far and hope that trend continues! There will be no trade deadline, so yipee!

Here’s the playoff situation:

CLINCHED: Miley’s VMA Foam Finger (9-1)
While Aziz lost for the first time this week, he clinched a playoff spot. He’s also all but certain to lock up the #1 overall seed; if Aziz wins two games, he clinches the first overall seed, and Peter or Kyle would either have to go 3-0 with Aziz going 1-2 against the #4, 9 and 10 scorers in the league this year. Hiiiiiighly unlikely.

95+% CHANCE: Manti Te’o’s Fake Girlfriend (7-3)

Unless Peter’s team shits the bed, they’re in good shape; they face two of the other teams in the playoff race (me and Tate) as well as 2-8 Brett. Even if they drop two of their last three games and end up 8-5, they’re guaranteed at least a tie for fourth place, since Tate and I play each other and one of us has to end up with at least 5 losses. They currently hold the points scored tiebreak over every team at the moment, with Tate being the only other team within 40 points at the moment, so they’re a non-lock lock to make the 4-team playoff.

ON THE BUBBLE: Team Sexton (7-3), SCLSU Mud Dogs (6-4) and Somewhere Over The Dwayne Bowe (6-4)

The road will not be easy for any of these three teams; Kyle faces the #9, 2 and 3 scorers in the last three weeks while Tate faces the #5, 3 and 1 and I face #’s 2, 1 and 7. The winners of the Tate-Sean week 11 and Tate-Kyle week 12 matchups will be in excellent shape to claim the two final playoff spots, and things will get very interesting if Tate wins both, Kyle beats Tyler in week 11 and I beat Peter in week 12 – in such a scenario, I would need Aziz to beat Kyle while beating Ben, and catching up in the large points scored gap between us. Wait, who am I kidding? I ain’t beating no Peter in week 12.

AH-AH-AH-AH STAYIN ALIVE: Team Kelly (4-5-1) and Shmitty Werbenmanjensen (4-6)

If either of these teams win out, they’re still mathematically alive. Shmitty has the easier road, facing the #7, 9 and 10 scorers in the league this year, but also have less margin for error, since Team Kelly’s best case scenario record of 7-5-1 is obviously half of a game better. It’s unlikely that either team will win out and make the playoffs mainly because they have too much ground to make up. But if Tate or I lose out, and the winner of our week 11 lineup loses their last two games, things could get veeeeeery interesting.

ELIMINATED: Titsburgh Feelers (2-8), Juicy J (2-8) and Don’t Suh Me Bro (2-7-1)

Please don’t give up on your teams – you can still play spoiler to other teams. And also, remember that this is a keeper league, so don’t be afraid to trade good 2013 players for 2014 and beyond guys. And trade them to me only, please.
If I had to guess today, I’d say the playoffs will look like this (although I hope it won’t):

#1 Miley’s VMA Foam Finger vs #4 Team Sexton
#2 Manti Te’o’s Fake Girlfriend vs #3 SCLSU Mud Dogs
